The Benefits of Infrared Heat (FIR)
360° Hot Yoga is Dublins Premier Hot Yoga studio. The studio has been kitted out to the highest standard for a Hot Yoga studio. The heating system is powered by Infra Red heaters heating the room up to to 36-40 degrees celsius. The heat provides a method of detoxing and also encourages your body to become more limber and flexible. Radiant, or infrared heat, works differently from conventional heat also in that it does not "transfer" heat from a heating source, but rather it distributes it more evenly because it "radiates" the heat outward. It does not need a secondary transference method to warm an area, a person, a small room, or whatever the purpose might be.
The Green Choice
Because the method is much more direct and efficient, it is thought to be a superior pain relief method to conventional heat. It also happens to be a "green" choice when used as a heater for the home because it is so much more energy efficient. If you`ve ever heard of infrared heat based saunas, or have ever tried one, then you will understand. You can stay in an infrared sauna longer and reap greater benefits because the air around you does not reach blistering temperatures like in a traditional Hot Yoga studio.

Sports Injury
Athletes have been known to use this type of heat to relieve aches, pains and strains, and also to help move along the healing process because it is believed to help make circulation more efficient. As you may know, wounds heal faster with better circulation, and this is also true of muscle and tissue trauma.
Health Benefits and the Importance of Hydration
A major factor is gaining the full benefits of any Hot Yoga class is to come hydrated to the class. Drink at least two litres of water before any classes that you are attending. If you are attending a morning class make sure to hydrate as much as possible the day before. Ensuring that you are hydrated is important when practicing in the heat to allow the body to perspire and remove any toxins in your major organs including a deep cleansing of the skin. You will be less likely to have headaches in rooms with infrared heating as oxygen levels remain high and the air does not become "heavy“ and dry.
Furthermore patients suffering from rheumatism or asthma as well as wearers of contact lenses all benefit from the constant humidity levels and the lack of dust-promoting air circulation which are typical characteristics of rooms heated by infrared systems. These conditions generally promote the healing process and provide a healthy environment.
From a medical standpoint, The German Pharmaceutical Newspaper writes:
"The application of heat has been one of the principles of medical practice for thousands of years. As a result of improved technology new applications of infrared heat as a medical treatment are being found. Infrared heat is a typical application in the treatment of musculoskeletal pains."
